8-11 September 2011 in accordance with Presidential Decree of July 27, 2009 № 863 in Saransk (Mordovia Republic) will host the II International Sports Forum "Russia – Sports". The purpose of the event – the development of physical culture and sports, international sports cooperation and to promote a healthy lifestyle.
In Saransk in the business of the Forum plenary sessions, scientific and practical conferences, seminars and "round tables" on the main themes of the Forum. Traditionally held master classes, film series and exhibitions that demonstrate the achievement of participants in the sports industry and focusing on its higher results. In addition, place a number of major international and Russian competitions.
For the first time the Forum, as all the Russias, was held from 22 to 25 October 2009 in Kazan. The capital of Tatarstan has been chosen to host the forum as a city that has been granted the right to take the XXVII World Summer Universiade 2013.
Note that in 2010 to increase international sports cooperation forum has international status (Presidential Decree of March 26, 2010 № 374).
From July 29 to August 1, 2010 Forum "Russia – Sports", timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the XXII Olympiad 1980 held in Moscow. His main platform was the Olympic complex "Luzhniki". The event was attended by leaders of international sports federations, associations and public organizations, members of the International Olympic Committee and national Olympic committees of various countries. All subjects of the Russian Federation to be represented in their delegations to the Forum to include the best athletes and coaches, directors of children's sport and government authorities. Total number of Forum participants exceeded 3,000 people and all, in view of sports and cultural events, it was attended by nearly 300 000 people.
